Parallel Projections

This display was created for the “Parallel Projections” exhibition organized by the Architectural Institute of Japan.
The exhibition presented a flat row of displays made by 130 participants in a single room. Therefore, we aimed to make our display memorable by facilitating communication with the audience. Each project was organized into a folded booklet that could be pulled out of the panel. A corresponding aerial photograph was shown on the cover of each booklet. A piece of the primary material used in each project was used to hold the booklets down. The act of touching and feeling the weight of these materials enriches the audience’s experience.
The environmental texture and composition shown by the aerial photographs were juxtaposed with the materiality of the weights, creating a rather peculiar scene.
